The 2010-2011 LGA Season has gotten off to a great start. Wanda and Brenda have made us a lovely “Birdie Tree” that is on display in the Ladies’ Lounge. If you get a Birdie during our Tuesday games, please record the hole number on the space provided on the “Chip-in” sheet. Your birdie will be posted on the tree by Wanda or Brenda.
Each week, you need to turn-in both a game card and a Ringers card at the score table. (Please place Ringer’s cards in the Ringer’s Box.) Make certain that both scorecards are signed and dated and that full names are listed. Please don’t make your volunteers work too hard!
Today was a great start to our interclub season. We certainly were challenged by the heat, but I think we all pulled through and did the best we could. Here are the standings as of today:

I hope everyone will participate in both events. Thanks.

Good Morning Ladies,
We have received the end of the year standings for 2009-10 Interclub (total points are below). We pretty much held 4th place most of the year. Eglin beat out Regatta Bay this year but Foxwood really came in with a strong finish.
Sarah Breckenridge will be your new Interclub leader next season and she is shopping for our new look as we speak. I want to thank each of you for your participation this year and past years. Hope to see ALL of you again next season and maybe some new faces.
Sarah will be keeping you informed of all the NEW information from here on out. I have really enjoyed working with all of you………. RBCC LGA ROCKS!!! We had full teams every time this year, rain or shine, cold (freezing) or hot (sweltering), THAT says a lot of you, ladies. It REALLY is appreciated….THANK YOU!!
Blessings and be well,
Beth

Thanks to all of you who played today – it was a good group for the first day of summer play. As previously stated we will be playing “Best 9 Holes” with 1/2 handicap throughout the summer. All RBCC adult female members are welcome to participate. $1 for the pot, $.25 for chip-ins (optional). We finally had a chip-in after several weeks of having none. Congratulations to Pat McNeil! You may need to get a body guard to protect all your loot!
The sign-up sheet for the Presidents’ Cup have gone up in the lounge. This is a GREAT match play tournament – and you can’t beat the price – it’s FREE! We always need more ladies – this tournament is open to all RBCC members. Men play against men and ladies play against ladies. You will be assigned to a team. It’s much more fun if we have players from all handicap brackets. Please join us!
Also, the sign-up sheet is posted for the Presidents’ Dinner on June 26. It’s only $20++ per person – and we’re serving Chateaubriand! It promises to be a FUN evening! Let’s show our support for Carol as she leaves her post as RBCC President!
June 1 begins our casual play for the summer. Bring $1 for the pot and a quarter for chip-ins. We will be playing “Best 9 Holes” with 1/2 handicap. This allows us to adjust the number of holes we play based on ability and the weather. Since summer play is more casual, we ask you to take a turn with registration. See Gloria Hall to get on the calendar. If you’ve not done the pairings before, we’ll team you with someone who is experienced. If you have RBCC friends who have been reluctant to join us in the past, encourage them to try us out in the summer. You don’t need to join the LGA to play in the summer, just be an adult female member of Rocky. It’s also a good time to establish a handicap for those who haven’t done so.
The Club Championship is over and the results are attached – congratulations to all winners. And a huge thank you to our board for a wonderful tournament!
Next week, May 25, will be our last day of play for our regular season, along with our end of the year awards luncheon. All members of the LGA – social and golfing – are encouraged to attend. If you haven’t sign-up for lunch, contact Wanda or Brenda Meeboer.
Our game on Tuesday will be our 2nd Annual RBCC-LGA Goofy Golf Day. Bonnie Weideman has promised another day of fun - and funny - golf. Don’t miss it!
June 1 begins our summer, casual golf. All female members of RBCC are encouraged to attend. Bring $1 for the pot and join us!
