For those who were not present for today’s FSGA Interclub Matches, we did great and won 19 – 5 over Sunny Hills CC – congrats to those who played. Our clubhouse committee chairman, Vicki Wilson, has asked me to have our member artists display their work on the porch. We had such a great art show at the wine-tasting party that members have expressed interest in seeing more of it. Each month we will have one artist display their work along with a short bio. This artwork may or may not be for sale. It may be originals or prints. By “artwork” I mean anything you can hang on that wall. I am asking anyone who is interested in displaying your work to contact me and let me know which month you would like to do this. Please don’t be shy. Roger Campbell has offered to start us off in January. He said he has enough artwork to change it every week. Thanks for your help with this. There Is No Joy in MudNiceville!!Our Rocky Bayou Challenge Cup team traveled to Santa Rosa Golf and Beach Club this past weekend, Dec 10 – 12, for three days of Ryder Cup style matches. The weather was really nice Friday and Saturday but turned cold and windy Sunday. Everybody had a great time, but unfortunately, the results were not very good. Santa Rosa Beach won 15-9. Thanks for great hospitality, great fun, and great golf to our hosts at Santa Rosa Golf and Beach Club. But, just wait until next year. This is the roster, pairings, and tee times for our matches against Santa Rosa Beach. We still need 2 players for singles matches on Sunday so if you know of anyone, let me know. Santa Rosa has asked if we would like to join them for dinner after the match on Friday. Let me know if you would like to have dinner there or not. Click the picture below to see the Smile Box slide show of all the great art on display at the recent Gallery Stroll and Wine Tasting. Thanks for the hard work that made this a very successful event:
Thank you to those who donated on Patriot Golf Day. We raised $175. The money goes to benefit the “Folds of Honor Foundation”, which provides post-secondary educational scholarships for children and spouses of military service men and women killed or disabled while serving our great nation.
