The Board shall appoint the following committees for conducting the affairs of the Club and shall decide all questions that may arise between the committees.  A member of the Board shall be the chairman of each committee except as provided in Section 7 of this Article.  No husband and wife shall serve on the same committee.  Committee members may be appointed from the general membership unless otherwise stated in the by-laws.  The Board may appoint any additional committees from time to time when deemed necessary.  (Amended 5/19/92).

 

Section 1, Financial and Budget Committee.

 

      The committee shall consist of five members, one of whom must be a member of the Board.  The treasurer shall serve as a non-voting member of the committee.  It shall be the duty of the committee to prepare budgets and to review the financial condition of the Club for the Board.  The committee shall audit, or cause to be audited, the accounts of the treasurer yearly and render a report to the Board on results and recommendations of the audit. This committee shall certify to all financial records at the semi-annual meeting of the Club.  (Amended 5/19/92).

 

Section 2, Golf Course and Grounds Committee.

 

      The committee shall consist of five members, one of whom must be a member of the Board.  It shall be the duty of this committee to superintend all physical improvements, alterations, and maintenance work required on the golf course property and the grounds surrounding the Clubhouse, practice areas, parking lots, swimming pool, and tennis courts.  The committee shall prescribe and enforce such ground rules as deemed necessary to insure the preservation and protection of the golf course and grounds.  The committee shall engage and discharge maintenance personnel subject to the direction and control of the Board.  The golf course superintendent shall be a non-voting member of this committee.  (Amended 5/19/92).

 

Section 3, Golf Committee.

 

      The committee shall consist of five members, one of whom must be a member of the Board.  This committee shall have charge of all matters pertaining to the playing of golf upon the property of the Club.  The committee shall develop appropriate local rules of play and plan and schedule special events involving inter- and inter-Club competitions.  A handicap system for members, in accordance with the United States Golf Association criteria, will be established and maintained.  The Club manager shall be a non-voting member of this committee.  (Amended 5/19/92).

 

Section 4, Clubhouse, Planning, and Building Committee.

 

      The committee shall consist of five members, one of whom must be a member of the Board.  This committee shall develop appropriate house rules for enforcement by the Club manager.  It shall be responsible for annual updating of the master plan for the Club.  It shall make recommendations to the Board regarding any proposed new construction or alterations to existing buildings or utilities.  The Club manager shall be a non-voting member of this committee (Amended 5/19/92).

 

Section 5, Admissions Committee

 

      The committee shall consist of five members, one of whom must be a member of the Board.  It shall be the duty of this committee to review the qualifications of candidates for admission and to present such names to the Board with its recommendations.  (Amended 5/19/92).

 

Section 6, Swimming and Tennis Committee.

 

      The committee shall consist of five members, one of whom must be a member of the Board.  It shall be the duty of this committee to prepare and present to the Board appropriate plans and rules for swimming and tennis by the members for execution and enforcement by the Club manager.  The Club manager shall be a non-voting member of this committee.

 

Section 7, Nominating Committee.

 

      The committee shall consist of five members, none of whom may be a member of the current Board or a member of the nominating committee for the previous year.  Members of this committee should be former members of the Board, if feasible.  It shall be the duty of this committee, one month before the next meeting of the proprietary members, to nominate and submit to the Board a list of candidates at least equal to the number to be elected to the Board at such next meeting of the proprietary members.  No member of the nominating committee shall be nominated as a candidate for office for the forthcoming term.  (Amended 11/16/93).

 

Section 8, By-Laws Committee.

 

      The committee shall consist of five members, one of whom must be a member of the Board.  This committee shall be charged with recommending changes to these by-laws to the Board.  A member of the committee will also brief the membership on proposed changes to the by-laws.
