Employee of the Month

Tim BrownOn July 31st 2009 Timothy Brown will have accomplished a feat few in the golf course management profession achieve—employment with the same com-pany for 20 years. For 20 years Tim has dedicated himself to keeping the grounds at RBCC as weed, disease, and insect free as possible.
Following a tour in the Navy, Tim attended Horry-Georgetown Technical Col-lege in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, where he studied Turf Management on the GI Bill.
Before coming to RBCC, Tim worked 10 years at various clubs as a Spray Technician, one of which was the host of the J.C. Penney Classic. He worked at Perdido Country Club with Superintendent Bill Stewart. Sometime after that Mr. Stewart became superintendent at RBCC. Recognizing the task that lay ahead, he quickly summoned the help of Tim and his spraying expertise. Tim accepted the challenge July 31st 1989 and has been here since.
Tim has lived in Holt during his time at RBCC. There, he and his wife Anita raised their two children Nathaniel 19 and Eileen 13. Tim is very family ori-ented and considers spending time with his family one of his greatest passions. Tim enjoys playing golf, camping with his family, and taking care of his prop-erty in Holt.
When asked about his 20 years of service at RBCC Tim says, “I have always taken great pride in my work, I enjoy seeing the product of my work, and it‟s a great feeling to have members comment favorably on the quality of my work. To be quite honest, Rocky Bayou has sort of became my home away from home.”
Tim certainly deserves a huge THANK YOU and more for 20 years of dedicated service to RBCC.
